چکیده

Electro-hydraulic servo-systems are widely employed in industrial applications such as robotic manipulators, active suspensions, precision machine tools and aerospace systems. They provide many advantages over electric motors, including high force to weight ratio, fast response time and compact size. However, precise control of electro-hydraulic systems, due to their inherent nonlinear characteristics, cannot be easily obtained with conventional linear controllers. Most flow control valves can also exhibit some hard nonlinearities such as dead-zone due to valve spool overlap. This work describes the development of a nonlinear controller based on the feedback linearization method and including a fuzzy compensation scheme for an electro-hydraulic actuated system with unknown dead-band. Numerical results are presented in order to demonstrate the control system performance.

Time-Invariant State Feedback Control Laws for a Special Form of Underactuated Nonlinear Systems Using Linear State Bisection

Linear state bisection is introduced as a new method to find time-invariant state feedback control laws for a special form of underactuated nonlinear systems. The specialty of the systems considered is that every unactuated state should be coupled with at least two directly actuated states. The basic idea is based on bisecting actuated states and using linear combinations with adjustable parame...

On using fuzzy logic to integrate learning mechanisms in an electro-hydraulic system. II. Actuator's position control

In Part I of this paper, fuzzy modeling showed its potential to describe the behavior of the electro-hydraulic system. To verify the possibilities of its application for the system’s learning control, two inverse-model compensation schemes were implemented. This paper describes and discusses the experimental results obtained, showing the feasibility and effectiveness of the learning controllers...
